12th January - A wheelie good day!

I had the day off work today so I decided to have a look around the sales and go to the cinema. I bought a lovely set of earrings and necklace in a fairly new shop called Muse.
As the weather was fairly good I decided to go for a ride on the big wheel as this was likely to be my last chance to do so. The wheel is due to come down in about a week's time. Although it wasn't a very clear day I managed to get a good view of the main landmarks of the city. This is a better wheel than the one we had two years ago - it feels more stable and a ride is 4 revolutions rather than 3.

After my ride I went to the Printworks to see "Miss Potter" It was a charming film. I was touched by the tragic tale of the romance between Beatrix Potter and her publisher and impressed by her determination to be independant and make a living out of writing books at a time when women were expected to be home-makers and rely on their husbands for their main source of income.
Judging by the trailers it looks like I will be making a few more visits to the cinema as there are some good films being released this year.
